Elias J. Oden is the son of Elias G. W. Oden

In 1858 a wagon train of about 23 wagons left Mississippi bound for Texas. They crossed the Sabine River near Nacogdoches and Elias G. W. Oden and his wife Chloe, with Elias Jasper Oden and his wife Catherine settled in what is now Flo. Jasper's sister Mary and her husband Wiliam Rigby continued on and settled in Leona.
